Having trained at Brodies, WS in Edinburgh, Graeme Stephen spent 7 years as a senior associate at the pre-eminent international law firm, Clifford Chance, in London, Bahrain and Singapore. In 1993 Graeme Stephen joined the Funds Division of E D & F Man International which became Man Investments and today is better known as Man Group plc, the world’s leading hedge fund group. As the Director of Corporate Finance for Man Investments, he developed the diverse range of innovative fund structures deployed by Man for its clients around the world over a 10 year period as well as General Counsel and Head of Compliance.
Since leaving Man, Graeme Stephen has expanded his experience into the PE and VC markets as a participant (he started up an innovative insurance company) and as an investor. He is currently working as a fund and business consultant with a number of individuals, companies and investor groups to develop fund structures and placement programmes primarily in the alternative investment sector. Graeme Stephen is a senior financial/legal executive with practical experience in the implementation of start-up businesses in the regulated arena as well as a wealth of expertise in the structuring of alternative investment funds both from a legal and financial perspective.
